Defence Forces almost complete clearing Kupiansk of Russian troops – Zelensky
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kupiansk has been almost completely cleared of Russian invaders.
He reported this during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“There has been more success for our guys in the Kupiansk sector, although Russia claims it has captured Kupiansk. But we — to be frank — have almost completely cleared this city of them,” Zelensky said.
According to him, meanwhile, fighting continues in Pokrovsk and in other sectors.
The President noted that Russia has been conducting offensive operations over recent months, but “none of them has been successful.”
As reported by Ukrinform, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 16:00 on December 1, five combat engagements were ongoing in the Kupiansk sector, near Pishchane, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Shyikivka, and Novoplatonivka.
