Over 5,000 combat clashes on frontline in October: Defense Ministry names fiercest day
The intensity of fighting on the front lines in October remained high, with 5,480 combat engagements and nearly 140,000 artillery strikes by Russian forces recorded during the month. These figures exceeded those of September.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported this with reference to data from the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to Ukrinform.
"According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, there were 5,480 combat engagements in October. Throughout the month, their number often exceeded 200 per day. The fiercest day was October 9, with 245 engagements," the ministry said.
It also noted the increased activity of Russian aircraft and artillery fire. In October, Russian forces carried out nearly 140,000 shelling attacks, including 3,353 using multiple launch rocket systems.
On November 2, Ukrainian forces engaged in 162 combat clashes with Russian invaders, with the heaviest fighting taking place in the Pokrovsk sector.
