General Staff confirms that Russia shot down its Su-30 fighter jet
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the information about the Russian Armed Forces shooting down their Su-30SM fighter jet.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff reported this on Facebook.
“The Ukrainian Navy's intelligence services intercepted radio communications about the ignition of two engines and the ejection of the crew of a Russian Su-30SM aircraft, which was performing a mission in the northwestern part of the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” the statement said.
The General Staff suggested that the enemy probably shot down its own multi-role fighter while repelling a UAV attack using air defense systems.
As reported by Ukrinform, earlier, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk, said live on Apostrophe TV channel that in temporarily occupied Crimea, the Russians, repelling attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, probably shot down their aircraft.
