In the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol, which is under Russian army control, there have been reports of the invaders redeploying elite units of the FSB special forces and marine infantry from the annexed Crimea.

Petro Andriushchenko, head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, said this in a Telegram post seen by Ukrinform.

"We are observing the deployment of elite units of the FSB special forces and marine infantry to Mariupol. This is the second such movement this fall. The first was in September. At that time, the marine infantry was targeted in an attack at their base in the village of Urzuf, based at the former Kvant boarding house," Andriushchenko wrote.

He clarified that a new batch has now arrived, this time at the territory of the Illich Steelworks.

"They arrived directly from Crimea. Judging by their behavior, they are here for reinforcement and coordination. They will soon be on the front line," Andriushchenko added.
