Russian forces lost a tank, armored personnel carrier and three armored vehicles while unsuccessfully assaulting areas near Shakhove and Volodymyrivka
Pilots from the Phoenix unmanned aerial systems unit of the Pomsta border guard brigade and fighters from allied units halted a Russian assault near Shakhove and Volodymyrivka, the Donetsk region.
Ukrinform reported this citing the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
On October 13, Russian forces reinforced with tanks and armored vehicles attempted to break through Ukrainian defense lines and deliver troops to the area of Volodymyrivka and Shakhove.
Thanks to coordinated actions by Ukrainian fighters, the assault was brought to a halt: a tank, a BTR-T armored personnel carrier and three armored vehicles were destroyed, while two more tanks and six pieces of equipment sustained damage.
Around five dozen invaders were left killed or injured.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine cleared 3.4 sq. km in the Pokrovsk District, the Donetsk region, over the past day and advanced up to 1.6 km deeper into some directions, Ukrinform reported citing the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrsky.
