The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council has recorded an intensification of the Russian information campaign aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, the Center reported this on Telegram.

In particular, Russian propagandists are spreading fake news that Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers near Kupiansk have been left without food and water and are refusing to fight.

The CCD explained that this is actually another attempt to demoralize Ukrainians and discredit the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such “news” with references to anonymous sources in the “security forces” of the Russian Federation is a standard information tactic used by Russians to put pressure on Ukrainian society.

“The purpose of such fakes is to create the illusion of chaos in the Ukrainian army,” the Center emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian propaganda is spreading fake news about the alleged use of civilians as “human shields” by Ukrainian defenders in Sosnivka, Dnipropetrovsk region.
