Ukrainian forces capture Russian mercenary from India

Soldiers of Ukraine’s 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade have captured a Russian mercenary from India.

According to Ukrinform, the brigade posted this on Facebook, along with a video of the captured fighter.

The 22-year-old, named Madjoti, had been studying in Russia. He was detained there for drug possession. To avoid imprisonment, the Indian citizen agreed to go to war.

He claims that he had never intended to fight and planned to surrender at the first opportunity. During his first assault mission, he did exactly that — surrendering to soldiers of the 63rd Brigade.
