Russians hit UOC-MP cathedral in Kherson

In Kherson, a Russian shell hit the roof of the Dormition Cathedral, which belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

 According to Ukrinform, the Social Service of the Kherson Eparchy reported the news on Facebook.

“On September 29, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m., during the shelling of the city of Kherson by Russian troops, one of the shells hit the roof of the central altar of the Dormition Cathedral in Kherson,” the post says.

It is noted that a mass was held at the time of the shelling. There were no casualties.

As reported, the Russians shelled a cathedral in Sumy while a mass was being held there.
