Man blown up by Russian mine in Sumy region

A man was blown up by a Russian mine in the Sumy region.

According to Ukrinform, the Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported the incident on Telegram.

"It happened today in the Bilopillia community. A 62-year-old man was blown up by an explosive device while picking mushrooms. Preliminary reports indicate that it was an anti-personnel mine, which was probably dropped by the enemy from a drone," Hryhorov said.

According to the Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the man suffered severe injuries. He was hospitalized, and doctors are providing the necessary assistance.

“He faces a long period of treatment and rehabilitation,” Hryhorov said.

The Head of the Regional Military Administration called on residents of border communities to be as careful as possible and refrain from going to forest belts and other dangerous places.

As reported by Ukrinform, on September 10, during an evacuation operation in the Kherson region, a police officer was killed and two of his colleagues were injured when their vehicle hit a mine.
