Russian overnight attack on Zaporizhzhia damages 10 apartment blocks, 12 private homes
Overnight, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems, striking the Komunarskyi and the Shevchenkivskyi districts of the city. Apartment blocks, private homes, auto repair shops, service stations, and industrial facilities were damaged.
This was reported on television by Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, according to Ukrinform.
“It was a difficult night for Zaporizhzhia. The enemy struck the city at least ten times, most likely with Tornado-S MLRS. They attacked two districts — the Komunarskyi, particularly the Pivdennyi neighborhood, and the Shevchenkivskyi. In the Komunarskyi district, the enemy hit a playground surrounded by apartment buildings. Residential high-rises were damaged,” he said.
In the Shevchenkivskyi district, Russian forces struck private housing areas, hitting industrial facilities such as an auto repair shop, parking lot, and service station. According to Fedorov, all the targeted facilities were purely civilian.
A total of 10 apartment buildings and 12 private homes were damaged.
As reported by Ukrinform, Zaporizhzhia came under a massive attack overnight, with fires breaking out across the city. According to the regional administration head, two people were killed and 14 injured, including two children.
