Su-27 pilot killed during combat mission in Zaporizhzhia direction

Major Oleksandr Borovyk, a pilot of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, was killed while performing a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

The 39th Brigade reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"We regret to announce that on September 11, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., in the Zaporizhzhia direction, while performing a combat mission on a Su-27 aircraft, our brother-in-arms, Major Borovyk Oleksandr, born on April 19, 1995, a pilot of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade, was killed," the statement said.

The investigation into the cause and circumstances of the pilot's death is ongoing.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of August 23, after completing a combat mission, MiG-29 fighter pilot Major Serhiy Bondar died while attempting to land.
