Missile strike on demining mission near Chernihiv: death toll rises to two, three injured
The number of casualties from a Russian missile strike targeting a humanitarian demining mission near Chernihiv has risen to two dead and three injured.
This was reported by Viacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, according to Ukrinform.
“We know of two fatalities. Three people were injured and are receiving medical assistance,” he wrote.
Chaus stated that Russian forces deliberately targeted personnel from the humanitarian demining mission of the Danish Refugee Council, who were working in the Kyselivka community near Chernihiv.
“First, the Russians littered the region with explosives and mines. Now they are killing civilians who risk their lives to clear our land of the consequences of the Russian invasion,” he emphasized.
Earlier reports stated that one person was killed and two others injured in the Russian strike.
