Russian forces hit Ukrainian Navy ship, one crew member killed

Russian occupation forces have struck a Ukrainian Navy ship, killing one crew member killed and leaving several others injured.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, said this in a comment to Ukrinform.

"Regarding reports of a strike on a Ukrainian Navy ship: we confirm the attack. Efforts to address the consequences are ongoing. The majority of the crew is safe, and the search for several sailors continues. Unfortunately, one crew member was killed, and several were injured," Pletenchuk said.

Russian sources reportedly claim that the ship involved is the Ukrainian Navy reconnaissance vessel Simferopol.
