Defense forces destroyed 32 of 37 Russian drones overnight
Defense forces destroyed 32 drones used by Russian troops to attack Ukraine on the night of July 29.
This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
According to the military, starting at 9:40 p.m. on Monday, July 28, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with the following airborne weapons:
two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Launch areas — Rostov Oblast, Russian Federation, and temporarily occupied Crimea;
37 Shahed strike drones and various types of drone simulators. The launch sites were the Russian cities of Orel and Kursk, as well as Hvardiyske in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The enemy attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
It has been preliminarily determined that as of 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, air defenses in the north and east of the country shot down/jammed 32 Russian Shahed-type UAVs and other types of drones.
Five enemy drones and two missiles were recorded hitting three locations, and two more locations recorded the fall of downed targets (debris).
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of July 29, Russian invaders launched a missile strike on Kamianske in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result of the enemy attack, medical facilities, among other things, were damaged. Two people are known to have been killed and five injured.
