Ukrainian forces down Iskander-K missile, 79 drones

Ukraine's defense forces have shot down a Russian Iskander-K cruise missile and 79 drones.

The Ukrainian Air Force said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

Since 20:00 on Friday, March 7, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and an Iskander-K cruise missile fired from the Rostov region and 145 Shahed strike UAVs and various decoy drones launched from Millerovo, Kursk, Shatalovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Chauda (temporarily occupied Crimea).

Ukraine's air defense forces – aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare forces, and mobile fire teams -- responded to the air assault.

As of 09:00 on Saturday, March 8, Ukrainian forced downed an Iskander-K missile and 79 drones. Fifty-four decoy drones disappeared from radar (no negative consequences).

The attack impacted the Donetsk, Poltava, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Odesa regions.
