MoD, National Institute for Strategic Studies ink cooperation deal

State Secretary of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Liudmyla Darahan and Director of the National Institute of Strategic Studies, Oleksandr Bohomolov, signed a memorandum on partnership and cooperation.

The parties will jointly work on addressing the key issues facing the Armed Forces and other elements of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

According to Darahan, "the Ministry of Defense is currently implementing a number of reforms, divided into stages and separate projects. Many of them require new laws, amendments to existing norms, and adjustments to outdated administrative routines."

"It is very important that we receive independent and professional recommendations regarding our next steps, as well as assistance in the process," the state secretary said.

The National Institute of Strategic Studies is a basic research institution that provides academic and analytical support for the President of Ukraine and the National Security and Defense Council.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Deputy Minister of Defense Natalia Kalmykova, Director of the State Employment Center Yulia Zhovtiak, and Director of Robota.ua Innovations Serhiy Lozko signed a tripartite memorandum of cooperation on improving the recruiting system for the Defense Forces.
