National Guard soldiers destroy two Russian tanks near Kreminna

The servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine destroyed two Russian tanks near Kreminna, Luhansk region, in the last two days.

"At 11:53 on July 30, 2023, an enemy T-72 tank tried to fire at one of the positions of the 5th Slobozhanska Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine near the village of Kreminna in Luhansk region. The commander of a mortar unit, call sign ‘Student’, having received the coordinates of the aerial reconnaissance... hit an enemy tank with the second shot. Thus, an enemy attempted attack was foiled," the press service of the National Guard of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

As the deputy battalion commander, a colonel with the call sign "Tykhyi", said, thanks to a timely report from the positions about the movement of equipment, two UAV squads promptly conducted reconnaissance and detected the movement of a Russian T-72 tank, after which they spotted their fire on the enemy tank.

"A mortar squad under the command of a senior soldier named Bohdan inflicted fire damage on the tank, as a result of which the enemy tank was damaged and immobilized. After that, the artillery fired at the tank," said the National Guard member.

In addition, around 09:00 on July 31, 2023, a Russian T-80 tank fired three shots at the National Guard positions.

"In response, the Guard’s brigade members opened mortar fire, as a result of which the enemy tank was damaged and lost control and its crew fled from their positions," the report reads.
