‘Timely, broad, much-needed’: Zelensky thanks US for new defense aid package

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the American people and President Joseph Biden for a new defense aid package for Ukraine, calling it timely, broad, and much-needed.

“A timely, broad and much-needed defense aid package from the United States. We are grateful to the American people and President Joseph Biden for decisive steps that bring Ukraine closer to victory over the enemy, and democracy to victory over dictatorship. The expansion of Ukraine's defense capabilities will provide new tools for the de-occupation of our land and bringing peace closer,” Zelensky posted on Twitter.

As reported, the U.S. Department of Defense officially announced a new $800 million security assistance to Ukraine. The package contains cluster munitions, as well as other types of weapons and ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
