The State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure is starting to repair the bridge on the Krolevets-Konotop-Romny-Pyriatyn highway, which connects the center and north of Ukraine, in particular the Poltava and Sumy regions.

This was reported by Ukrinform citing the Recovery Agency.

"The road connects the center and north of Ukraine, in particular the Poltava and Sumy regions. A significant part of the traffic is passenger buses. To ensure safe travel, we have started renovating the bridge. In order not to completely block traffic on the road, a traffic light will be installed to allow traffic to pass in reverse," the statement said.

It is noted that the first priority will be to replace the expansion joints, which are completely destroyed. In parallel, the railing and barrier fencing will be replaced and sidewalks will be repaired. The works are being carried out at the expense of operational maintenance. The bridge was last repaired 20 years ago.

As reported, road builders have fully assembled a metal span structure on the bridge over the Sula on the H-08 Boryspil-Mariupol highway. The bridge provides transport links between the north, center, and south of Ukraine - the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Kirovohrad, and Dnipro regions.
