Russians attack Sumy region’s border areas 22 times

On June 4, 2023, Russian troops attacked the Sumy region’s border areas 22 times.

The relevant statement was made by Sumy Regional Military Administration on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“A total of 104 explosions were recorded. The following communities came under enemy fire: Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Hlukhiv, Znob-Novhorodske, Krasnopillia, Myropillia, Nova Sloboda, Shalyhyne and Yunakivka,” the report states.

In the Bilopillia community, the enemy used self-propelled howitzers (eight explosions) and mortars (two explosions).

In the Velyka Pysarivka community, Russian invaders opened fire with artillery (18 explosions) and mortars (three explosions). A detached house, garage with a car, and a gas pipeline were damaged.

In the Hlukhiv community, Russian troops launched artillery strikes (nine explosions).

In the Znob-Novhorodske community, the enemy opened fire with artillery (28 explosions). Seven detached houses were damaged, as well as a power transmission line, church, and a fire and salvage unit. Two people were injured.

In the Krasnopillia community, Russian invaders launched mortar strikes (six explosions).

In the Myropillia community, Russians attacked with artillery (two explosions) and mortars (four explosions).

The enemy also fired nine mortar bombs at the Nova Sloboda community.

In the Shalyhyne community, Russian troops launched mortar strikes (five explosions).

In the Yunakivka community, Russian invaders used self-propelled howitzers (10 explosions).

A reminder that, on the evening of June 4, 2023, Ukrainian border guard officers destroyed two enemy Shahed drones in the Chernihiv and Sumy region. One more drone was neutralized.
