Coalition of Patriots may include not only countries that have these systems – Zelensky

The issue of creating a coalition of Patriot systems was discussed with Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands, however, not only the countries that have these air defense systems can join the initiative.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this at a joint press conference with President of Estonia Alar Karis in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"This is the initial stage of creating this initiative. We had very important conversations with Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands on this issue, we also talked with the leaders of the European Union. That is, it was a security platform. The question is not that each of these mentioned countries can give it to us, but the question is that they can assist. And this is very important," said Zelensky.

According to him, some countries have the Patriot systems, others have various opportunities - political, personal relations with states that have the appropriate air defense systems, finances or some influence.

"I mostly talked to the countries with which I talk about the coalition of fighter jets. That is, it is such a joint effort. We definitely need it... Our task is not to hit 70-75% of the targets, but 100%," the President emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, the second meeting of the European Political Community was held in Chisinau on June 1. At this summit, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated about the need for partners to work within the coalition of Patriots and the coalition of fighter jets to put an end to Russian missile terror.
