Russian army hits Kyiv to take revenge for its failures at front - Air Force spox

Russia wants revenge for its failures at the front, so it is concentrating its strikes on Kyiv to demonstrate them to a domestic audience.

Spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Yurii Ihnat said this on the air of the nationwide telethon "United News" while answering why Kyiv is under the most shelling.

"To understand this, you need to ... watch their Telegram channels, their Skabeievo-Soloviovski propaganda programs. And it will become clear what the enemy is mad about. Their anger is flowing from their ears. It is clear that they want some kind of revenge, revenge for their failures, revenge is needed for the domestic consumer, who is being fed noodles," Ihnat noted.

According to him, this is also due to the lack of success of Russian troops at the front.

"They have no successes, the troops on the eastern approaches, in particular in the Bakhmut direction, were badly defeated. Although they boast of their achievements, that they took the ruins from Bakhmut, but as we can see, the enemy's offensive has actually stopped, so they need to convey at least something to their people," explained the spokesman.

Ihnat reminded that ballistic missiles do not reach their targets in the capital.

As Ukrinform reported, the Air Defense Forces destroyed 29 of 31 enemy attack drones of the Shahed 136/131 on the night of May 30.
