Britain, Netherlands will work on creation of ‘fighter jet coalition’ for Ukraine – Yermak

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte have agreed to work on the creation of an international coalition to help supply fighter jets to Ukraine.

They stated that at a meeting within the framework of the Council of Europe summit, Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"We need F-16s and I thank the allies for the decision to work in this direction, including the training of our pilots. In particular, Belgium has confirmed its willingness to train," Yermak wrote.

 At the meeting, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reiterated that Ukraine's place is in NATO. The British and Dutch leaders agreed on the importance of allies providing long-term security support to Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported, since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Warsaw has handed over 14 MiG-29 fighter jets and 325 tanks to Kyiv.
