In Kherson region, National Guard sappers defused 136 IEDs in a week - Urshalovych

In the Kherson region, sappers of the National Guard defused 136 explosive devices last week, surveying a total of about 560 hectares of land.

Colonel Mykola Urshalovych, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning for the Use of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine said this during a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"A consolidated demining detachment continues to perform humanitarian demining tasks in agricultural areas of the Kherson region. In total, about 560 hectares of land and 13 km of power lines have been surveyed in the area of Bezvodne and Muzykivka, and 136 explosive devices have been destroyed or neutralized," Urshalovych said.

In addition, according to him, last week the NGU demining groups in the Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions surveyed 15 km of roads and destroyed or neutralized 15 ERWs.

As reported earlier, on April 27, Urshalovych said that in the Kherson region, the National Guard had surveyed about 370 hectares of territory for illegal explosives over the past week.
