Overnight strike at Ukraine: 21 of 26 Shaheds shot down

On the night of May 3, Ukraine’s Defense Forces destroyed 21 of 26 Russian Shahed-136/131 type one-way attack drones.

The Air Force Command reported the news on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"On the night of May 3, 2023, the Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine using Iranian-made kamikaze drones from the north (Bryansk region) and south (eastern coast of the Sea of Azov). In total, the invaders launched up to 26 Shahed-136/131 strike drones," reads the report.

Ukraine’s Air Force, jointly with the air defense of other elements of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, destroyed 21 incoming one-way strike UAVs.

Air defense systems weapons, aviation, and mobile fire groups were employed in the operational zones of responsibility of Air Commands Center, East, and South.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, an air raid alert went off in Kyiv and a number of regions shortly after midnight as the Russian forces launched a barrage of kamikaze drones at Ukraine.

Air defense forces detected and destroyed all kamikaze drones that the Russians had launched at Kyiv.
