Number of children killed by Russian army in Ukraine rises to 477
The Russian army has already killed 477 children in Ukraine and left 955 others injured.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"As of the morning of April 30, 2023, more than 1,432 children were affected in Ukraine due to Russia's full-scale armed aggression. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 477 children were killed and more than 955 were injured," the report reads.
These figures are not final, as work is ongoing to establish them in areas of hostilities and in temporarily captured and liberated territories.
Most children were killed or injured in Donetsk region - 452, Kharkiv region - 275, Kyiv region - 128, Kherson region - 94, Zaporizhzhia region - 89, Mykolaiv region - 88, Chernihiv region - 69, Dnipropetrovsk region - 67, Luhansk region - 66.
On April 29, it emerged that two more children had been killed in the city of Uman, Cherkasy region, in a Russian missile strike on an apartment building on April 28. The attack killed 23 people, including six children.
On April 28, an 11-year-old boy was wounded in Russia's shelling of Mykolaiv.
On April 29, a 16-year-old girl was wounded by enemy shelling in Malotaranivka, Donetsk region.
According to Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska, more than 19,000 Ukrainian children are in Russian captivity.
