Border guards repel two attacks, destroy enemy assault group near Bakhmut

Soldiers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine repelled two attacks and destroyed an enemy assault group near Bakhmut, decimating nine Russian invaders and wounding five more.

"During the day, Russian troops shelled the strongholds of our border guards with artillery and tanks. Assault actions were episodic, the enemy attacked twice with rifle units," the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports.

The border guard mortar crews used the coordinates provided by the aerial reconnaissance and inflicted fire damage on the Russian positions and their movement routes.

Ukrainian defenders stopped the infantry attacks with machine gun, grenade launcher, and mortar fire. One of the assault groups was eliminated in close combat.

In positional fighting, the enemy suffered losses: nine people were killed, five more were wounded.
