Emergency power outages introduced in Kyiv and four regions due to threat of missile attack

Emergency power outages have been introduced in Kyiv and the Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Zhytomyr regions due to the threat of a Russian missile attack.

According to Ukrinform, DTEK Group reported this on Telegram.

"This is a forced preventive step that will help avoid significant damage to the energy infrastructure if enemy missiles reach the target," the report reads.

DTEK also urged everyone not to ignore the air raid alert.

In the Zhytomyr region, Ukraine's state energy company Ukrenergo applied a preventive shutdown of electricity from high-voltage power supply centers.

An air raid alert was declared in Ukraine early on January 26.
