Military doctors performed a unique surgery to remove an unexploded VOG grenade from a serviceman’s body.

"Military doctors performed a surgery to remove an unexploded VOG grenade from the body of a serviceman. Two sappers were present during the removal to ensure the safety of medical staff," Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar posted on Telegram.

As noted, the surgery was performed by Andrii Verba, one of the most experienced surgeons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, without electrocoagulation as the grenade could explode at any moment.

The surgical intervention was successful, and the wounded serviceman was sent for further rehabilitation and recovery, Maliar added.
