The 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has captured Russia’s infantry fighting vehicle, Basurmanin BMP-1AM.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the Ukrainian paratroopers, Russians simply left their vehicle on the battlefield, saving their lives. The vehicle itself turned to be new and in perfect condition.

Now, Zhytomyr paratroopers are testing the enemy’s IFV, and soon it will be working for Ukraine’s victory, the ministry noted.

The Basurmanin BMP-1AM is an upgraded BMP-1 version. It was first presented in 2018 and used by the enemy on Ukraine’s territory after the full-scale invasion started.

“It is yet unknown how many Basurmanin vehicles are in service with the occupier. But, the Ukrainian military say there are not many of them. Hence, such a trophy is even more valuable,” the ministry added.

A reminder that, between February 24, 2022 and December 9, 2022, Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine reached about 93,390 troops.
