To restore power system, Ukraine needs transformers, air defense systems - Kuleba

Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba of Ukraine says transformers and air defense systems are needed to restore Ukraine's power system.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy emphasized this at a joint press conference with the ministers of foreign affairs of the Northern European and Baltic countries, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"In order to restore the power system, we need two things: transformers (this is the largest part of the power system) and we need air defense to shoot down enemy missiles that are targeting our infrastructure," Kuleba said.

He noted that by providing Ukraine with air defense equipment, partners are also saving and restoring the energy infrastructure: "However, if this were not the case, we would be rebuilding it, and they would be destroying it. This vicious circle must be broken."

To break this circle, spare elements for the system itself and missile and air defense systems are needed to protect it, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized.

As reported by Ukrinform, on November 28 the foreign minister of Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland, and Sweden arrived in Kyiv to discuss further support for Ukraine.

The heads of diplomacy issued a joint statement in which they pledged to continue providing political and practical support to ensure Ukraine's ability to defend itself.
