Air Force shot down 16 Iranian Shahed drones overnight

On the night of October 22-23, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 16 Shahed-136 kamikaze drones.

"On the night of October 22-23, the enemy already ‘traditionally’ attacked the south of the country with kamikaze combat drones. Eleven enemy drones were destroyed by the air defense forces and means of the Air Command ‘South’ of the Air Force in Mykolaiv region, and three more Shahed-136 drones were shot down by other units of the Defense Forces of the south," the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

Two more loitering munitions, which managed to break through from the southern direction, were destroyed by anti-aircraft guns of the Air Commands "East" and "Center" in the east and north of Ukraine.

As reported, Russian full-scale military aggression has been ongoing in Ukraine since February 24. The Defense Forces are fiercely resisting the Russian invaders.

Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov stated that the Ukrainian air defense units already shot down about 60% of enemy air targets and the results were expected to improve in the near future.
