Five people have been killed and 47 injured in a Russian missile attack on Kyiv as of 12:00 on Monday, October 10.

Svitlana Vodolaha, a spokeswoman for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, announced this on Ukraine's television, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Today, rescuers worked at six scenes of enemy missile strikes. As a result of the massive attack, according to preliminary information, five people were killed and 47 injured. Twelve people were also rescued and 24 people were evacuated from damaged houses by rescuers," she said.

Currently, rescuers continue to dismantle the debris, so the number of casualties may increase, she added.

Earlier reports said that eight people had been killed in a missile attack in Kyiv.

In total, on October 10, Russia launched 83 missiles at Ukraine, and 43 of them were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces.
