Vehicle with Ukrtelecom employees blown up on enemy mine in Sumy region

A vehicle carrying employees of Ukraine's national telecoms operator blew up after it drove over an enemy mine in the Okhtyrka district of Sumy region. Three people were injured, the driver died on the spot.

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"At 08:45 on October 2, the vehicle with employees of JSC Ukrtelecom was blown up on an enemy mine in the Okhtyrka district. The truck pulled over to the side of the road near the TV tower," he informed.

According to Zhyvytskyi, there were four people in the vehicle: three of them are in the hospital, the diver died on the spot. Law enforcers are working at the scene. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

As reported, the Okhtyrka district remains one of the most mine-affected area in Sumy region.
