Vereshchuk to head coordination headquarters for deoccupied territories

Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereshchuk, will head the newly created coordination headquarters for deoccupied territories.

Such a decision was made at a government meeting on September 7, Ukrinform reports, citing the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories.

According to the report, at the initiative of the head of state, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal ordered the creation of the coordination headquarters for deoccupied territories. It was proposed to appoint Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk as the head of the headquarters, and the government supported this proposal.

The main task of the coordination headquarters is to restore the territories liberated from the enemy and reconstruct state and civil infrastructure.

"Ukraine has already seen what the enemy leaves behind in the deoccupied territories. These are destroyed social and municipal infrastructure, destroyed housing, burned and looted enterprises, basements turned into torture chambers. We will bring these lands back to life. The goal is the further reintegration of such areas," Vereshchuk said, commenting on the government's decision.
