Russians shell Enerhodar, blaming Ukraine’s Armed Forces

Explosions are heard in the industrial zone of occupied Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia region. The invaders blame the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but city mayor Dmytro Orlov claims that this is a provocation.

"The occupiers continue their provocations in Enerhodar. They disseminate statements on their propaganda channels that the Armed Forces of Ukraine shelled the residential quarters of the city in broad daylight. Shots and explosions can indeed be heard again in Enerhodar today. They are coming from the industrial zone of the city. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine have nothing to do with them. When the Armed Forces of Ukraine go on a counteroffensive, Enerhodar will definitely find out about it. And it will not happen in the way that the ruscists are now portraying," Orlov posted on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

The mayor says that the occupiers resort to such provocations to sow panic among the local population and thus provoke people to leave the city en masse simultaneously.

"This will make it possible to use the gathering of a large number of people in Vasylivka area and artificially detain cars there for an indefinite period. Unfortunately, this is an attempt by the occupiers to use the citizens of Ukraine for a large human shield before the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to block the advance and intensity of our military attack," the mayor explained.
