Ukrainian flag reinstalled on Snake Island

Snake Island has officially returned to Ukraine’s jurisdiction.

That’s according to Natalia Humeniuk, head of the press center of South Ukraine’s Defense Forces, who spoke at a briefing at the Ukraine - Ukrinform Media Center.

"The flag of Ukraine has been installed on Snake Island. The military operation has been completed, and currently the territory has been returned to the jurisdiction of Ukraine," she said.

According to the speaker, the enemy is currently making no progress in the ground advance. Therefore, the usual method of air and missile strikes is being applied.

"Our troops are advancing in a special way – slowly but surely, as we said, within the framework of a military operation, keeping silence about it. Wherever we liberate an area, we first consolidate our positions before announcing success. On land, the enemy does not have success in advancing, so at the moment, they are applying the tactics of air and missile strikes. Today, at dawn, missiles hit Novovorontsovtsi again, and several other communities in the north of Kherson region," Humeniuk said.

She added that there is no information on casualties. But due to the fact that the shelling was scattered, the data is yet to be clarified.

As reported by Ukrinform, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have completed a military operation to clear Snake Island of Russian equipment and weapons after the invaders fled to the temporarily occupied Crimea.
