Haidai on shelling of Azot plant: Dozens of tonnes of oil leak, intense fire

A large-scale fire broke out at the Azot plant in Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region, as a result of Russian shelling.

"The territory of the Azot plant is fired intensely, for hours, with heavy weapons. There was oil leaking from the radiators, dozens of tonnes, intense fire [broke out]," Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai said during the nationwide telethon, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, the enemy does not stop trying to break through the front in the area of Popasna, fighting continues in Toshkivka.

Due to the heat, the Siversky Donets River has become shallow, so, according to Haidai, the invaders may try to cross it and create a new bridgehead in Bilohorivka.

“For the second week in a row, it is hot, sunny, no rain, and the water level in the river has fallen quite seriously, we even see the Russian equipment, which sank while trying to cross in Bilohorivka,” he said.

As reported, earlier Haidai denied reports of Russian propagandists about the alleged blockade of the Azot plant in Sievierodonetsk.

On the night of June 11, Russian troops used the Solntsepek heavy flamethrower system in Vrubivka and entered Orikhove. A railway depot of the Azot association was damaged during the shelling. The premises of brick and research plants were hit.

In Lysychansk, enemy shells hit the territory of a glass factory, damaged a local school and a culinary school. It is known about three people killed and eight injured.
