Two civilians killed, four injured in Russia’s shelling of Kharkiv

On June 8, 2022, two civilians were killed and four injured in Russia’s shelling of Kharkiv’s Novobavarskyi District. A local café, shop and school caught fire.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“At about 11:00 p.m., the enemy shelling caused a fire in a café, food store and school library in Kharkiv’s Novobavarskyi District. […] According to the preliminary data, two civilians were killed and four injured,” the report states.

The total area affected by fires was about 500 square meters. School premises were partially damaged. At 03:10 a.m., all fires were extinguished.

Over the past day, Kharkiv Region’s rescuers have responded to 34 calls, of which 16 were related to the fires caused by Russia’s shelling. The pyrotechnics experts of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service neutralized 137 enemy munitions.
