Russian army shells Sumy region nearly 110 times in one day
From the morning of May 18 to the morning of May 19, the Russian army carried out nearly 110 attacks on settlements in the Sumy region, causing destruction and damage and injuring two people.
According to Ukrinform, Ihor Kalchenko, head of staff of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram.
A total of 45 settlements came under enemy fire. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
The invaders used mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, FPV drones, UAVs, and guided aerial bombs.
In the Svesa community, a 20-year-old man was injured in an enemy drone strike. In the Myropillia community, a private residential building was destroyed.
In the Velyka Pysarivka community, a private home and a passenger car were damaged in a Russian attack. In the Buryn community, private homes, a civilian infrastructure facility, vehicles, and an outbuilding were damaged.
In the Hlukhiv community, civilian infrastructure facilities, an apartment building, and a private car were damaged. In the Krasnopillia community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
In the Mykolaivka rural community, an enemy strike damaged a civilian infrastructure facility, a private residential house, and an outbuilding. In the Novoslobidska community, a private house, outbuildings, and a non-residential building were damaged.
In the Shostka community, an administrative building was destroyed, while private homes, an outbuilding, and non-residential premises were damaged. A 52-year-old man was injured.
In the Putyvl, Khutir-Mykhailivskyi, and Znob-Novhorodske communities, private residential buildings were damaged as a result of enemy attacks.
In the Esman community, a private residential building was destroyed, while another private home and outbuildings were damaged.
In the Shalyhyne community, a private residential building was destroyed by a Russian strike.
Over the past 24 hours, 28 people were evacuated from border communities.
Air raid alerts in the region lasted for 21 hours and 57 minutes.
As Ukrinform previously reported, from the morning of May 17 to the morning of May 18, the Russian army carried out around 50 strikes on the Sumy region, killing one person and injuring four others.
