Russians forcibly move part of Siverodonetsk residents to occupied areas - mayor

Part of the residents of Siverodonetsk, a town where fierce firefights are underway, were forcibly removed by the Russians to the temporarily occupied areas.

That’s according to Siverodonetsk Mayor Oleksandr Striuk, the Luhansk Regional Military Administration reports.

"Before the assault (by the Russian troops - ed.), about 13,000 people remained in town. Fighting has been going on for three days, and this population remains in the city, except for a small part, which the orcs managed to forcibly move to the occupied territories," said Striuk.

According to the mayor, the city has a small food stock, which will be enough just for a few days. What residents need the most at the moment is fuel, as there is no centralized power and water supply, so water can only be obtained from wells with the help of electric generators.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Russians managed to capture most of Siverodonetsk before the Ukrainian forces pushed them back. Now the invaders retain control of about half of the city.
