Russian troops have opened fire on Donetsk Region 28 times over the past day, causing damage to civil infrastructure facilities and civilians.

The relevant statement was made by the National Police of Ukraine on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In particular, Russian occupiers shelled 12 settlements. Children were reported among those injured.

“A total of 52 civilian objects were damaged: residential houses, three schools, industrial enterprises, farm enterprise, critical infrastructure facilities,” the report states.

Over the past day, Russian invaders have opened fire on such settlements as Mariupol, Bakhmut, Soledar, Avdiivka, Lyman, Toretsk, Kostiantynivka, Siversk, Zalizne, Bakhmutske, Pivnichne and Yablunivka.

In Bakhmut, a plant and a five-storey apartment block were destroyed with enemy projectiles. A man was killed, and a 9-year-old boy was seriously wounded.

According to the National Police of Ukraine, Russian troops fired at civilians with aircrafts, tanks, heavy artillery and Tochka-U missile systems.

The police launched pre-trial investigation according to Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war).
