Ukrainian air defense forces shoot down Russian cruise missile over Mykolaiv region

A unit of anti-aircraft missile forces of Ukraine's Air Command South has shot down a Russian cruise missile over the Mykolaiv region.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force Command said this on Facebook.

"On the night of May 17, in the sky over the Mykolaiv region, a unit of anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Command South shot down a Russian cruise missile fired by a strategic bomber that attacked Ukraine from the Caspian direction," the statement said.

The missile was flying toward the western regions of Ukraine.

Early on May 17, the enemy fired missiles at a military facility in the Lviv region near Ukraine's border with Poland.
