Nine civilians have been killed and six injured in Russia’s shelling of Donetsk Region over the past day.

The relevant statement was made by Donetsk Regional Military Administration Head Pavlo Kyrylenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“On May 16, 2022, Russians killed nine civilians in Donetsk Region: three in Lyman, two in Avdiivka, one in Marinka, one in Klynove, one in Drobyshevo and one in Katerynivka. Six more people were injured,” Kyrylenko wrote.

According to him, a total of 375 local residents have been killed and 1,081 injured in Donetsk Region since the Russian invasion started.

In addition, it is now impossible to calculate the exact number of casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha, Kyrylenko added.
