In Kharkiv region, Territorial Defense forces have destroyed a Russian T-90M Proryv tank, using a Swedish Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle.

That’s according to war correspondent Andrii Tsaplienko, reporting from Kharkiv region, Ukrinform wrote.

"Finally, the military has released the footage of this vehicle exploding. The claimed value of the tank reaches USD 4.5 million. It also became known who destroyed the tank and by what means. Fighters with the 227th Battalion of the 127th Territorial Defense Brigade got into a battle with Russian tankers and hit the T-90M Proryv tank with the Swedish Carl Gustaf anti-tank weapon (Carl Gustaf, Granatgevär m/48 (Grg m/48), Carl Gustaf). It has been produced in various modifications since the late 1940s,” Tsaplienko said.

He noted that the Russians are sending into battle the best of what they have, but this hardware also remains vulnerable to the relatively simple arms manned by Ukrainian infantry.

"I think our fighters who destroyed the tank should be rewarded. It’s not only medals. Therese should be an award from SAAB. For effectively advertising their products," Tsaplienko said.

According to the journalist, the Russian T-90M Proryv supertank was attacked by the Territorial Defense Forces near Staryi Saltiv, Kharkiv region, on May 4. Also that day, defenders destroyed a BMP IFV and an MTLB auxiliary armored vehicle there. According to Tsaplienko, the ruscists tried to regain the village liberated by Ukrainian fighters but suffered casualties.
