Russian invaders constantly recruiting new saboteurs - MIA official

Russia is constantly recruiting new saboteurs, therefore law enforcers’ efforts to identify such individuals will never stop, even after the war ends.

Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Rostyslav Smirnov has addressed the issue, speaking on national television, answering a reporter’s question, how many promoters of the “Russian world” are believed to be currently operating in Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I can't name their exact number, but I'm sure there’s quite a lot of them - many have been exposed, many are being monitored, and also many who are yet to be identified. That’s because they are recruited non-stop, being attracted for financial reasons, over certain motives, perhaps for some ideological reasons, perhaps also through intimidation, and so on,” Smirnov said.

He suggests that the law enforcers’ work to identify such individuals will never stop, even after the war ends.

"Even within our political elite and other such circles, we must constantly do these purges, to make sure we don’t have traitors there – that’s because we understand perfectly well and have already gone through many such issues in our history. We must constantly work on this – both the SBU security service, the National Police, and other agencies that will be involved in this. Because after what happened, we have no right to allow the enemy to rule our country," Smirnov said.
