Mariupol could become part of Russia’s Rostov region - self-proclaimed “mayor”

The self-styled "mayor" of Mariupol, Konstantin Ivashchenko, assures that the city will be annexed to Russia and become part of Rostov region.

Petro Andryushchenko, the adviser to the legitimate Mariupol mayor, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Pseudo-mayor of Mariupol Konstantin ‘corpse-eater’ Ivashchenko in meetings with Mariupol residents on the issue of territorial subordination has repeatedly stressed that Mariupol will be annexed to the Rostov region in Russia," wrote Andryushchenko.

He said such information indicated a "real nature of the Kremlin's plans."

According to Andryushchenko, the children, who were gathered in the only school that was not damaged by the aggressors, were obliged to sign their notebooks in a new way, with affiliation to Russia.

"As for accession to Russia, it is reported that at school, children are already signing notebooks as ‘Mariupol. Rostov region,’" the adviser noted.

Russia's aggression has caused one of the biggest humanitarian catastrophes in Mariupol. The invaders are bombing unarmed residents and blocking humanitarian aid.

The mayor of Mariupol previously said that since the beginning of the Russian invasion, up to 20,000 civilians have been killed in the city.
