Atrocities in Kyiv region: at least 1,222 killed, 500 war crimes suspects identified

Ukrainian law enforcement officers have already identified 1,222 people killed in Kyiv region as a result of Russian aggression since February 24.

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova said this on the air of the UK’s TV channel Sky News, Ukrinform reports.

"As of this morning (April 10 - ed.), we have already counted 1,222 deaths in Kyiv region alone," she said.

According to Venediktova, law enforcement officers have opened 5,600 criminal proceedings over Russian war crimes in Ukraine, and 500 suspects have been already identified.

As Ukrinform reported, Irpin, Bucha, Hostomel cities and the entire Kyiv region were liberated from Russian invaders in early April. Mass killings of Ukrainian civilians by Russians have been recorded in liberated towns and villages.
