Mariupol: Fierce battles raging, Russian troops prepare to cremate bodies

The battle for Mariupol is raging, but Russian troops have not achieved any significant advance inside the city. Russian invaders continue to remove dead bodies from streets, preparing to cremate them.

The relevant statement was made by Advisor to Mariupol Mayor Petro Andriushchenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In his words, Russian troops have prepared a place for the crematorium within the industrial site of warehouses on Volodarske Highway, near Metro.

“Russian occupiers are using large warehouse refrigerators to keep bodies. The cremation area is under enhanced security, making it actually impossible to obtain visual evidence from the inside,” Andriushchenko wrote.

According to Andriushchenko, Russian occupation forces do not communicate with people directly. The only exception is their presence at the food distribution post in Metro. The main reason is that they are afraid of Azov Regiment’s reprisals.

Russian invaders are also massively spreading text messages via Viber and Telegram about their ‘gentle’ attitude and meeting Russia ‘with fraternal embraces’.

“Meanwhile, the filtration levels are increasing. Everyone over the age of 18, irrespective of sex, is subject to strict filtration procedures. According to the available data, about 5% of people do not pass through the filtration procedures due to their pro-Ukrainian position and disappear,” Andriushchenko stressed.

A reminder that Russian troops have started to use mobile crematoriums in Mariupol to cover the tracks of war crimes and mass killings of civilians, committed by them.
