FM: Greece will help to restore Odesa

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Dendias has stated that his country will join the restoration of Odesa after the Russian-Ukrainian war.

“The only thing I can say right now in these difficult times, is that we are going to be part of this future by helping you reconstruct this city and make it even more beautiful, even better,” Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Dendias said during his meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna.

What is clear even beyond the smoke of today’s bombs is that Odessa will have a bright future, he added.

Dendias arrived in Odesa on April 3 and met with Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov. Minister Dendias arrived in Odesa leading a humanitarian mission to resolve a number of diplomatic issues.

At dawn on April 3, Odesa was attacked from the air. Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down some enemy missiles. Odesa City Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov said that some facilities of civilian infrastructure were damaged – high-rise buildings, roofs of private houses. He also assured the citizens that they should not worry about the possible lack of fuel at gas stations.
